The first new Stripped Down of 2012 comes from San Jose, California-based pop punkers Stickup Kid. We shot this on location at Eastside Joe’s after the band’s January 2nd show at the intimate music hall/residence, so a big thanks goes out to Joe for letting us stay after. Check out vocalist Tony Geravesh’s and guitarist Bo McDowell’s rendition of the Smashing Pumpkins’ classic “1979” as well as an acoustic version of The Sincerest Form of Flattery closer “Wyandotte County Lake.” ...

Nothing With Numbers reunited for a special, invite-only gig at MDV Rehearsal Studios this past week. Most of us, the band included, were still recovering from the previous night’s “New Year’s Heave” event with NOFX, so while the band was as animated as ever the crowd was subdued, mostly content to lay on couches, chairs or even just the floor. Everyone was smiling because the music was so good, but also winching slightly from the headaches and dehydration that are a staple of New Year's Day. ...
