We’re sad to report that local folk/punk band Bogtrotter’s Union will be going on hiatus. This news is not entirely surprising for people who have been following the musicians that make up the band, as their time has been increasing split between projects like Shayna Rain and the Part Time Models, Lawn Mower Death Riders and Firewater Folklore.
All hope is not lost for Bogtrotter fans, though. While “indefinite hiatus” is usually a band’s way of letting you down gently and then never seeing you again, drummer Jeremy Tunender confirmed for us that an album may still be in the works later on.
“As of now, with everyone touring with other acts, I’m having my baby girl in September, and we do want to finish recording an album” explains Tuneder. “So it’ll be a hiatus of sorts til who knows when.”
People wanting to check out the Union before they enter their slumber can head out to the Bunkhouse Saloon tonight, where the band will be supporting Bobby Meader Music at their tour kickoff gig. This gig is a make up for their previously scheduled finale at Zarfest, so there’s always a chance if they get cut off we’ll get yet another show, just be sure to wait until partway through the last song.
