We’re sad to report that local pop punk band Calmosa has decided to call it quits.
A message posted on their facebook page today reads:
Hey guys, Louise here! Unfortunately, we won’t be playing the show on November 1st with Shallow Like Me for their EP release. The show is still happening, but we will not be playing.
With that being said, I have to explain that we are on hiatus. We aren’t sure if it’s definite or indefinite.
On behalf of the guys and myself, I just want to say that we thank you for liking our page, supporting us, booking us, coming to shows, listening to our EP, anything. It’s because of all of you that we have been a band for 2 1/2 years. Thank you for all you guys have done for us, it really has been an amazing time for all four of us. We love you.
In the meantime, support Doogie’s other band and friends of all of ours, Guts and Rob’s other band, Safely. Both are awesome projects and you won’t be disappointed.
Hope to see everyone around!
Louise, Rob, Doogie, and Darius
During their time together, Calmosa, which rose from the ashes of Wear Your Heart, released three EPs, completed multiple tours and shared the stage with The Swellers, You Blew It, The Sheds and Mixtapes. Personally, I respected the fact that I’d see the members of Calmosa come out to shows they weren’t playing, supporting many of the local and national acts that play here.
We wish the band members the best of luck with future projects and send out our thanks for the two years of great music.
For more info on what the band members are up to now, Guts are getting ready to transform their Matches Malone EP into a full length for release next year, while Safely is planning on releasing tracks in the next few days (maybe keep your eyes on this site on Tuesday -wink-).
