Life is Shit Returns to The Dive Bar

The annual celebration of everything shitty is returning for its 12th year to The Dive Bar September 27-28.  Check it out! Las Vegas’s longest-runny music festival,” Life is Shit Festival, will return for its 12th year, Saturday, Sept. 28 at The Dive Bar, 4110 S. Maryland Pkwy. The festival is expanding this year to add the “Shitkicker Kickoff” pre-party, featuring country/blues artists (and country karaoke after the bands), Friday, Sept. 27, at The Dive.  Life is Shit Festival was founded in 2013 by members of the Las Vegas music community, as a free, DIY, locals-centric, punk/rock alternative to the corporate, mainstream Life is Beautiful Festival. GC Records announce cover song compilation benefiting Trevor Project coming 3/1/23

Local label GC Records have announced a new compilation of the many cover songs their artists have recorded over the years, to be release next week, March 1, 2023. For all of March, 100% of all proceeds will be donated to The Trevor Project in memory of Punks in Vegas founder Emily Matview.  The Trevor Project’s mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ young people, so it’s extremely close to the heart here at Punks in Vegas. BLAIRFEST this weekend!

In Honor of Blair Dewane, fellow musicians and friends have organized a 3 day celebration of life dubbed Blairfest. The 3 day celebration will take place on December 16th to the 18th, with the first two nights at the Plaza’s Sand Dollar. The festival will feature performances from Blair’s wide community of musicians like: Indigo Kidd, Same Sex Mary, Mercy Music, Dark Black, Hassan Hamilton and many more. Also performing will be Ian Dewane and former members of Rusty Maples and The Skooners performing renditions of Blair’s catalog of songs. The weekend will close with Blairaoke on Sunday the 18th at Starboard Tack. All events will be donation based, with funds collected going to cover operating costs and all additional funds donated to a charity in Blair’s honor.
