Most visitors to this website probably know Dan45 as the energetic frontman of local hardcore band Unfair Fight. But did you know he’s also a kickass artist? See proof of the kickassery May 1-31 at Wasteland Gallery, where his solo exhibition “Imagination is Everything… but Pizza is a Close Second” will be on display. The official opening is on First Friday, May 2, from 6 to 11 p.m., features musical guest Selecta Scream, and is free to the public.
The exhibition features 20+ new wood characters of Dan45’s original design – focusing on the things he loves like skateboarding, drinking Icees, consuming cupcakes, eating pizza, and daydreaming about eating pizza. All artworks are multilayered wood pieces cut out, painted and displayed by themselves or arranged in shadow boxes.
