UK’s Basement brought about a flurry of mixed emotion these past few months. First happiness in the fact that they would be touring the United States which surprisingly included a date in Las Vegas following an appearance at the Sound and Fury Music Festival. And then sadness at the fact that this tour would mark the last thing the band would ever do. The young act that masterfully blends the emotive passion of Sunny Day Real Estate with the grungey riffs of Nirvana packed the tiny venue with a loud chorus of kids singing every word. If this really is the last thing Basement ever does at least we can say they went out on top, which isn’t the worst thing that can happen.
