Our friends in Caravels have left Las Vegas. But you can breathe a sigh of relief, because they will return home in December.
The screamo quartet is currently in the midst of a country-wide tour, supporting their recently-rereleased-on-wax LP Floorboards + The Earthling Sessions, put out by the fine folks at Topshelf Records. For out-of-state readers and those unfamiliar with Caravels, if you’re fans of bands like Defeater and Touché Amoré then you owe it to yourself to check these guys out and catch them live if they’re playing anywhere near you (and by near, I mean nothing under 50 miles away is an excuse for not going). You won’t regret it.
The guys wouldn’t head out without saying “goodbye,” so on Friday, October 14, they played a release show/tour kickoff at Stoked on Printing in Henderson, NV. Joining them that night were fellow locals She Turned Us Into Trees!, First Cousins and Habit, and Tyler Newton was on hand to photograph the show for you.
(Note: Caravels’ tour was marred by bad luck early on when their van broke down. If you can offer any financial support towards repairing their ride, please send donations via paypal to matthewfrantom@gmail.com)
