Rad City Radio frontman Garrett Dale brought his solo-set-meets-improv-comedy show to this year’s Punk Rock Bowling, playing a brunch show in the Golden Nugget’s Rush Lounge. Between sips of fan-bought gin and riffing on whatever topics the crowd tossed out, the acoustic crooner played fan favorites like “2016 Was…,” parts of “I Want to Show you a Dead Body” and a fan request of “Electricity” (that fan was me). Dale was accompanied by trombone player Chris Fox, who has played with the likes of Vampirates and Boss’ Daughter. Later in the set, Dale told the story of the time Ray Rocket of Teenage Bottlerocket peed in his guitar case, leading towards Dale taking over the trumpet to accompany Rocket on some tunes.
