I started off Punk Rock Bowling weekend early and was surprised to find a really great Thursday night turn out for punk rock legend Jello Biafra and his Guantanamo School of Medicine. Las Vegas’ own Franks and Deans started this party off right with their rad punk rock covers of rat pack classics. Next up were local legends M.I.A. tearing up the stage with their 80s style punk. What can I say about the Angry Samoans? They are huge goof balls but they really know how to put on a show, and even invited fans on stage for a “coolest t-shirt” contest. After a long wait between bands, it was time for the man, the myth, the legend Jello Biafra. His set was filled with originals, Dead Kennedys covers, and more pantomiming than you would ever need. It was a fantastic way to start off a long weekend of partying.
