In my opinion, Yayo Taco deserves a lot more appreciation for all they do for the scene here in Las Vegas, opening up their doors for free to a wide array of bands from various genres who need a place to play for the night.
On January 4th, they welcomed a wealth of touring bands with My Iron Lung (San Diego), Adobe Homes (Albuquerque), For Want Of (Austin), Being As An Ocean (San Diego, CA), Wolfmouth (Columbia, MO) who all played alongside Vegas’ own Lester Freamon for a fun night of punk, hardcore and screamo.
There were some technical difficulties (Being as an Ocean’s malfunctioning amps cut their set a little short, while Adobe Homes’ similar issues led to an impromptu comedy performance by Caravels’ George Foskaris) but the atmosphere was great and I hope to see a few of these bands come back through town again soon.
