The Manscout Jamboree tour, headlined by The Wonder Years and featuring Make Do and Mend and Living With Lions, rolls into town Friday, April 22 at Vamp’d. The Show was originally scheduled to take place at Area 702 Skatepark, but a shooting outside of the music venue and general hangout spot caused the show to be relocated to Count Cool Rider’s Vamp’d. (Yes, THAT Count Cool Rider).
Unfortunately, venue changes aren’t the only setbacks facing the Manscout Jamboree Tour, which was also scheduled to include Such Gold and Fireworks. First, an injury to a bandmate caused openers Such Gold to drop off the tour. Then, co-headliners Fireworks had to cancel a number of dates due to a death in the family. The hearts of everyone at Punks in Vegas go out to the members of Fireworks.
Filling in for Fireworks on various stops are the pop punk bands This Time Next Year, Second to Last, and the excellent Mixtapes. Definitely check them out, as well as the other bands, if they are playing in your area.
Meanwhile, Absolutepunk.net posted the following statement from The Wonder Years today regarding the woeful band cancellations as well as the substitution bands’ schedule:
In the wake of the recent tragic events that have forced our brothers in Such Gold and Fireworks off The Manscout Jamboree, we have made some additions to the bill in certain markets. We are still hopeful that Fireworks will be able to return to the tour and I am sure that your support for them during this difficult period is making it easier to think about getting back on the road.

While it’s looking like Such Gold is off the tour for good, it looks like Fireworks may rejoin the tour in Las Vegas on 4/22. No concrete information has been released yet, but more info will be posted when it becomes available.
