Members of God’s America form Good Grief, announce cassingle release show with Nervosas

Get ready to actually kick the football with Good Grief, a Vegas pop punk band featuring current and former members of God’s America, December’s End, This Virus Makes Us Human and more. If you dig Marked Men, Mean Jeans or other lo-fi, Ramones-influenced jams, this is your stuff right here.

So how did Good Grief come to be?

“I was at a low point after a bad breakup and finally had something to write about last September,” explains Good Grief guitarist/vocalist Brett Kasden, also of God’s America. “After that things just kind of fell into place. Things came together really quickly after I got back from a God’s America tour, and we immediately wrote a bunch of songs.”

“The band is me, Beau, and Jason,” Kasden continues. “Jason and I are in God’s America currently. Jason was in December’s End, This Virus Makes Us Human, The Nautical Mile, Sea and Land, etc. Beau is from the bay area and played in Ovens and Case of Emergency. I was in Jesus, Fuck the Sun, Mayfield Place and No Ride Home.”

“I’ve wanted to start a pop punk band for years, and I met somebody on the aforementioned tour who just kind of put the idea in my head that I actually could,” explains Brett. “It stuck for the rest of the trip and as soon as I got home I got to work on what became Good Grief.”

“The tape is a cassingle, two songs. We also have a 6 song ep coming (hellooooo labels) in the next several months that we recorded at the same time as the songs from the tape.”

You can stream the two songs above, download them from the group’s Bandcamp page or pick up a physical copy at their show this Monday, July 13, with Nervosas. Details for that show can be found on Facebook.
