Following on the heels of our interview with Nate Robards, Punks in Vegas is happy to roll out this music feature on Nate’s latest band, Elements of Now.
EoN is a fairly new local band that features ex-members of Boba Fett Youth, Catapult, Lady, Leap Frog Society and Part Time Whore, and while traces of all of the aforementioned bands can be heard within this new group, I find EoN’s progressive, post-hardcore sound a bit hard to describe. The band’s only recording so far, the 4 song Forgive Us Xenu EP, features a unique blend of melody and aggression, and it is one of my favorites of recent memory.
Unfortunately, due to a set of unforeseen and unfortunate circumstances, the original release of the FUX EP did not go off as planned, and to further complicate matters, the band went on a lengthy hiatus right around the same time these songs were completed in 2012. With that in mind, let us re-introduce this EP in it’s entirety for your listening pleasure. If you like what you hear, you can also download these songs at the Elements of Now bandcamp page.
The guys in EoN are currently writing new material, and they also have a few shows on the horizon. In fact, you can catch them this Saturday at The Hard Rock Cafe on Paradise with classic Vegas punk bands F.S.P. and Self Abuse (among other bands). The show is a benefit sponsored by the Las Vegas Musicians Against Cancer Coalition, so this may be your perfect chance to check out Elements of Now live.
The next phase of EoN is here and now.
