PunksInVegas.com will be celebrating three years of covering the Las Vegas music scene next month with an anniversary show that includes Bomb the Music Industry frontman Jeff Rosenstock, San Jose indie punks Hard Girls and Las Vegas’ very own Mercy Music. The all-ages show will take place on May 22 at the House of Wonk and it’ll set you back just $5 (all money is going to the touring acts). And – pshhh, come a little closer so I can whisper this secret to you – word has it that anyone who wears a PIV t-shirt (or scrawls “Punks in Vegas” on a plain tee) gets a free cupcake courtesy of Punks in Vegas’ Ashleigh Thompson.
“What if I haven’t heard the bands yet?”
No reason to fret! If you go to Quote Unquote Records, you can get full albums from Jeff Rosenstock, his band Bomb the Music Industry, and Hard Girls as pay-what-you-can downloads. Here’s a little primer to get you started:
Jeff Rosenstock ‘I Look Like Shit’
Bomb the Music Industry ‘ADULTS!!!: SMART!!! SHITHAMMERED!!! AND EXCITED BY NOTHING!!!!!!!’
Meanwhile you can check out Mercy Music on their bandcamp site and you can watch our Stripped Down Session with Mercy Music frontman Brendan Scholz here.
Thank you to Andy Harrison of New Cold War for the flyer!
