When the Divebar abruptly shut its doors last month, many were left wondering what would happen to the local watering hole’s scheduled events. For one of the most anticipated shows, Off With Their Heads, Riverboat Gamblers, Dead to Me, and Deadhand, we now have our answer.
September 2 at 8 PM, The Bunkhouse Saloon will be home to that show, minus headliner Off With Their Heads, who had to drop off of several dates of the tour including Las Vegas. Fortunately, the loss of one band has been countered by the addition of many.
The Bunkhouse was already to host the Lady Killer Tour that night, featuring female-fronted bands Sick of Sarah, Hunter Valentine, and Vanity Theft. So now the two shows have been combined into a two-stage, 10-band festival that will also include locals Holding Onto Sound (their 7″ release show), Number 3 Pencils, Asterionella, and one more band TBA. The event will also feature local artists exhibiting their work, vendors, an outdoor BBQ and more.
According to show promoter Patrick “Pulsar” Trout, we have Zabi Naqshband from Holding Onto Sound to thank for this show being saved. “I can’t give Zabi enough credit for helping put this together. He got the Riverboat tour moved over after the Divebar closed, and he’s finding the artists and vendors. He’s putting in a ton of work to make this happen.”
Tickets for this 21+ event, dubbed First Friday Music Fest, will be on sale soon for only $10 from Brown Paper Tickets. The breakdown for the event is as follows:
Outdoor Stage: Riverboat Gamblers, Dead to Me, Holding Onto Sound, and Deadhand
Indoor Stage: Sick of Sarah, Hunter Valentine, Vanity Theft, Number 3 Pencils, and Asterionella
