Today we’re stoked to bring you “The Wild,” a brand new song from Vegas pop punk band Tonight We Fight, presented as a lyrics video created by Stephen Pitingolo.
The track comes from the band’s upcoming EP Where You’ve Been, which was recorded, mixed and mastered by Greyson Cervantes of Foxtail Studios and will be released on June 21. Where You’ve Been is something of a departure for the band, marking their first fully acoustic release.
“We decided to do an acoustic release to show people a different side of our writing,” Tonight We Fight bassist Cameron Gile explains. “We’ve put one acoustic track on each of our releases before and people liked them so we thought we’d dedicate something to that kind of sound. A lot of lyrics were written on our past couple tours and we wanted to put that material out in a way that seemed fitting.”
The band drew inspiration for the project from another pop punker turned singer/songwriter. “Personally, one band that inspired me is Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties” explains Tonight We Fight frontman Brandon Dold. “I was always a fan of Dan Campbell’s [The Wonder Years] work and I loved how this new band of his had a really different sound but still had a lot of passion and storytelling. It kind of inspired me to try to improve my own writing and try out different sounds.”
If you like what you hear (and aren’t afraid of heights), you can catch Tonight We Fight live with Shallow Like Me on June 24 on the roof of AAA Organics. The band will then be sharing the stage with Light ‘Em Up, The Home Team and more on June 26 at The Warehouse.
